Library reading circles
Kids read stories aloud in small groups, then work through comprehension questions with a volunteer. Sessions are short, repeatable, and designed so progress is visible week to week.
Programs
Everything we run is free, volunteer-led, and hosted in spaces the community already uses: libraries, schools, parks, and Zoom.

Vocabulary and phrases for real situations in New York — riding the subway, filling out forms, talking to a landlord, a doctor, or a teacher. Practice-first, grammar-second.
We collect and distribute age-appropriate books so reading continues at home. Donated books go directly to the families at our sessions.
Open discussion sessions for anyone who can't get to a library — story discussion, Q&A, and guided reading for remote participants.
Outdoor read-alouds and outreach tables where we introduce ReadNY, explain our goal, and sign people up on the spot.
Short presentations to librarians, teachers, and community groups, plus staffed information stands with flyers and pull-tab contact slips.
A typical session
Meet the group, pick a book at the right level.
